We are physical beings, able to adapt and develop perceptual-motor skills.
In an era of ‘ease of use’ I believe the time is ripe for products that capitalize these abilities and allow people to develop skill in using products. Through this natural process interacting with products will become easy as well, the big difference being that now people are empowered, they have skill, which in return brings pride and social status.
The Mads Clausen Institute (MCI) in Denmark was chosen to develop this vision further because of the rich body of knowledge concerning human skill existing there. In a cooperation with the institute I developed my design vision, and brought it into practice with Taurus: A redesign of a backhoe loader interface for Sauer-Danfoss.
