P.U.M.P! is an interactive installation that allows club visitors to create visuals that match the music being played. It was created in a group exercise with a brief to create an interactive installation inspired by the interaction between musician and instrument.
P.U.M.P! was inspired by the accordion player; the accordion is an instrument that can be split into three modes of operation: the filling and emptying of the air bag, the left hand playing the chords and the right hand playing the melody. These three elements are translated into three bicycle pumps, each with their own corresponding feel and controlling different elements of the visualization.
